MY LABOR STORY-- (They may be boring to some but i am just writing it down so I can remember)
I went into labor just after 11pm on Sunday after the Superbowl. I had contractions all night but they were not consistence so i didn't think I was in labor. About 4am they started to get strong but still not consistence so I just waited. When Donovan got up at 5am to go to work we decided to call the hospital and see what they thought. They told me to come in and get check out. At this point I was crying and didn't want to go to the hospital because I was scared I was in labor and my doctor was out of town for the week which meant if the other VBAC doctor (Dr. Cox) was not on call I would have to have a C-Section again and I didn't want it. We got to the hospital at 6am and they hooked my up to monitors and check to see if I was dilated. The nurse said I was in true labor and I was about 4 to 5 cm. She saw my doctor was Dr. Jones and he was out of town and they on call doctor was Dr. Dyer. She know i didn't want a c-section so she called Dr. Cox but he was also out of town. She talked to Dr. Dyer and talked him into letting me do a VBAC which he never allows. When he came in and check my to see for sure if I would be able to handle a VBAC he said I was a 7 to 8cm. So, they moved me to a labor and delivery room and started my IV and penicillin. After the lab came in, which was like 5 minutes, they called for my epidural which I got about 8am. They waited until the penicillin was almost in before they broke my water at 9cm. About 9:30am I started to feel a lot of pressure and the pain from contraction so they check me about. I was ready to start pushing at 9:45am. At 10:22am, Dexten was born. I was so happy that he was born and that Dr. Dyer let me do a VBAC. Everything went great and we were home the next day.
